And We Stop To Thank God For Our Blessings

I'm heartbroken again today. It seems to be happening more and more lately. My sister called to tell me that she still hasn't heard from all of our friends in New Orleans and Grand Isle. We still don't know who's safe. She was also telling me some of the stories she's heard of what's going on down there. It's not good.

Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana hard. There's not much left down there. Thousands are dead, many more injured. People are stranded on the roofs of their homes, no food, no water, no electicity, no shelter from the hot sun. More than 20 feet of water in some areas. Rats, venomous snakes and even sharks are seen in the water. There's no where to go as even the "shelters" are leaking, over crowded and without power, water or food.

They say it will take at least one month, if not more before people can even begin to return to their homes. Where will they go?

What have we done?

What will you do?
