Rolling With The Punches

Alright, so the birthday was not a complete dissapointment this year. Nothing terribly exciting, but at least it wasn't depressing... though I did find at least one grey hair (no joke)!

Thanks to everyone who sent me an e-card. You guys rule and make me laugh. I got a couple of paper cards with some birthday cash from my family. My sister called at 6:30am with my niece and nephew who sang happy birthday to me, which was the best way to start the day EVER, even if they did wake me up half an hour early.

I went out to dinner with my mom and a family friend (Maria) and didn't get home until after 9 because Maria baked me a cake! So we went back to her place after dinner to have cake and coffee. Very sweet.... and the cake was nice too.

Next day was work as usual. Then I get a call that Zian's new wife is throwing an impromptu suprise party for his birthday at the Casino where her step-dad's band is playing. So me and Jess head down to meet them. The boys were supposed to arrive around 10pm but they didn't end up getting there until just after 11pm. Both Jess and I had to work early the next morning so we left not long after Midnight.

Saturday I worked, found out just after I'd gotten to work that I had gotten a flat tire. My boss called a friend of hers to come change it out for me. He put the spare on and we found out I had run over a screw. Everything was closed for the day so I had to wait until this morning to take it to Canadian Tire to get it fixed. Luckily they were able to fix it for only $20.00 and they even put it back on the car for me for free.

I had a great talk with Brian after work today. I drove him home and we took the long way because of a miscommunication, but it worked out because he was really easy to talk to. He did most of the talking, but fun and interesting too. It kind of sucks that we won't be working together anymore, since today was my last day there. I'm hoping to still keep in touch with most of the people I work with. Well, the cool ones anyway.

I only have one more week left at the other job too. Then I'll be jobless and have one week before entering studentia again.

Who knows what the future will bring. September is my favorite month and I'm feeling like everything is lining up perfectly, for the first time in a long time. As much as I'm kind of sad that I'll be jobless, it feels right and I was able to pull together enough cash to take care of the bills that come along with going back to school.

As long as I can pull off another year like last year I can squeeze a couple more scholarships out of this place and then who knows?

For now, I'll just enjoy this piece of mind I'm feeling and take it for all it's worth.
