This woman is the sister of one of the men I work with. It's really a sad story. She is a mother of three beautiful kids (one of whom is disabled). Her life will never be the same.

Tonight at work we are having a b-b-q in her honor. It sounds kind of hokey, but it's true. All the money raised is going into a fund to help out the family. It's a really awesome thing to do and most of the people I work with are very generous in this way.

It's just that having 100's of people eating burgers and hot dogs in your honor, while you are clinging to life in some hospital bed seems a little... 'backwoods'. But if it raises lots of money, more power to them!
